‘Saturday’ Memo …May 31

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

Saturday we will rehearse from 10am to 1pm on choreography for the mega mix. Then lunch from 1p to 2p and review vocals from 2p to 4p.
The parking lot is being paved and striped this weekend so we can’t park where we normally do. You will have to come behind the wooden fence, the gate will be open and enter directly into the warehouse from the back lot. Anyone picking someone up will have to come back there also. We cannot use the parking lot or driveway area at all on Saturday.
See you all soon.

Success and Work

Latest Memo from Marcia Parks, May 19, 2008

Monday, May 19th, 2008

This week we start blocking the Show. EVERYONE is to be at rehearsal Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 6p to 9p unless you have already turned in a conflict date. We will be working on ACT I. Bring a pencil and paper so you can take notes. If you have never done blocking before, this will be a very good experience to learn how we make the Show go from beginning to end and tell a story.
If, for whatever reason, you are not able to be at rehearsal, please call me or send me an email ahead of time. Please do not just not show up. We are getting into the CRITICAL part of putting our Show together and we need everyone there.
If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact me.
AND YES, we are off Saturday, Sunday and Monday for the Memorial Day Weekend.
Come early and be prepared to start at 6pm.
Thank you

So Teach Us to Number Our Days

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

…Came across these familiar words from Psalm 90:12 and got to wondering, “How many days have I lived to far… and how many do I have left… if I live to age 70?” Well the answer is that, as of the date of this posting, I am on day 16031, with 9536 left… that is a sobering thought. I have tended, like most folks, to treat days like I have an unlimited supply. What a foolish thing to do… my days are limited… Finite… I should make the most of every one… make it count… for of all the things that I CAN get more of… time is NOT one of them. Do you know what day you are on? I promise you if you take the time to figure it out, you will reconsider the priorities of this all-too-short journey. Have you numbered your days?

Waiting for the Teacher… QT for Mar. 5, 2008

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

Psalm 25:5 “…For You, I will wait all the day.”  I remember from my academic days, that when an instructor was late to a class, there was a loose protocol as to how long the class should wait for him to arrive and begin teaching.  If the class was led by a teaching assistant, only 5 min need they wait.  But if it was a full professor with a doctorate, then 10 min..  If he/she was a Dean of the school, then 15 min.  The theory was that the greater professor’s words were worth waiting for longer.  Thus the Psalmist says that for God one should wait the whole day for His presence and instruction.  Whenever I seek Him, I wonder am I as determined to hear from Him, that I will wait with regard to whom I am seeking?  Surely He deserves such honor… and tires of the learner who waits just a few moments and goes his way… not caring if he leaves in ignorance… and unwisely.  The One I wait for is the Founder of the School of Life… perhaps I would do well to tarry longer.

QT notes Feb 24, 2008

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

Just a note on Proverbs 24.  The writer is paying attention as he goes by the lazy man’s vineyard and learns from seeing its disrepair.  Lord, help me to be in “learning mode” as I go through the day, every day.  You are not just speaking to me during 10 minutes of Bible reading… You are teaching your children 24/7… if they are looking for it.  He is like a lighthouse… He is there ALL the time.
